ABS Lightweight Spiral Chute
Application Scenarios: ABS lightweight spiral chute is suitable for separating fine-grained minerals in metallic and non-metallic minerals with significant density differences, recovering tailings resources, pre-selecting low-grade ores, and purifying and reducing impurities in minerals. It is particularly effective for the fine-to-medium particle size range (0.03–0.3 mm).
Applicable Minerals: Gold, tin, tungsten, hematite, chromite tailings, copper, beach sands, iron ore, quartz sand, cobalt, vanadium-titanium tailings, zircon-ilmenite placer deposits, and coal-fired power plant desulfurization by-products.

Introduction of ABS Lightweight Spiral Chute
The ABS lightweight spiral chute, also known as a high-polymer nylon spiral separator or quartz sand/beach sand spiral concentrator, is a new type of gravity separation equipment made primarily from ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer) plastic. It is specifically designed to beneficiate fine-grained and difficult-to-process ultrafine minerals (such as tungsten, tin, iron, and chromium). Its lightweight structure reduces transportation and installation costs, while its corrosion and wear resistance ensure excellent performance in humid or corrosive environments. The ABS lightweight spiral chute utilizes pure physical gravity for mineral processing, has no moving parts, and has extremely low operating costs. Its unique spiral channel design enables efficient mineral classification and enrichment; the product is highly popular and widely exported to markets such as Vietnam and Indonesia. It is ideally suited for small-to-medium-sized processing plants or mobile mineral processing operations.

ABS spiral chutes Vs. Fiberglass Spiral Chutes:
ABS spiral chutes are manufactured as a single, integrated unit using ABS engineering plastic, reducing the overall weight by approximately 30% and facilitating transport and on-site handling. They hold specific advantages in terms of corrosion resistance, rust prevention, and reduced weight. However, compared to fiberglass spiral separators, they are less wear-resistant and impact-resistant, and are prone to slight deformation in high-temperature environments.
Key Highlights of the ABS Spiral Concentrator
- ABS Plastic Material: Features a smooth, integrated trough surface that is non-magnetic, facilitates smoother discharge, and offers resistance to aging and material adhesion; its service life is significantly longer than that of traditional fiberglass (FRP) sluices.
- Lightweight Design: Weighs only one-third of a fiberglass sluice, making it easy to transport and assemble, ideal for quartz sand processing or mobile beach sand mining projects.
- High-Efficiency Fine Mineral Recovery: Specifically designed for beach sand containing zircon and titanium minerals, it boasts a heavy mineral recovery rate exceeding 98%.
- Zero-Energy Operation: Relies entirely on gravity-driven slurry flow and separation; requires no motors, gearboxes, or other powered components.
- Minimal Maintenance: Requires no lubrication or complex adjustments; daily maintenance involves only rinsing the trough surface, resulting in near-zero maintenance costs.
- Flexible Configuration: Supports single-unit or multi-unit series arrangements; units can be combined in various ways for roughing, scavenging, or cleaning operations to suit ores of different grades.
Core Applications of ABS Spiral Chute
Coastal Placer Separation: Placer deposits of ilmenite, zircon, rutile, monazite, etc., found on coastlines, riverbanks, and sandy beaches.
Metal Mineral Processing Plants: Pre-concentration of gold ores (especially those containing fine-grained encapsulated gold); separation of ferrous ores such as hematite, magnetite, and chromite; and gravity separation of non-ferrous ores including tin, tungsten, copper, and tantalum-niobium.
Non-metallic Mineral Purification: Upgrading mineral quality in applications such as iron and titanium removal from quartz sand and the purification of feldspar.
Tailings Resource Recovery: Recovering valuable minerals from processing plant tailings (e.g., tin or tungsten tailings).
Low-grade Ore Pre-concentration: Pre-concentrating low-grade ores to reduce downstream processing costs.
Coal Desulfurization: Removing sulfur and reducing ash content in coal used at power plants.
Structural & Principle Of ABS Lightweight Spiral Chute
Working principle
Slurry is fed into the top of the ABS spiral chute and flows downward, naturally rotating along the spiral channel. Under the combined influence of gravity, centrifugal force, and friction, mineral particles stratify according to density: high-density particles migrate toward the inner circumference, while low-density particles move toward the outer circumference. By adjusting the position of the product splitters, concentrate, middlings, and tailings can be separated, enabling continuous sorting. The entire process proceeds automatically based on physical properties, requiring no external energy source.

why choose JXSC ABS Lightweight Spiral Chute
features & Advantages
√ Long Service Life: ABS plastic is lightweight and offers superior resistance to UV radiation, moisture, and rust; its service life (10–20 years) in humid or sulfur-rich environments far exceeds that of fiberglass (FRP) spiral chutes.
√ High Separation Precision: The integrated molding process ensures a smoother chute surface, creating stable laminar flow conditions and enhancing separation efficiency.
√ Low Cost: Requires no power and has no moving parts, resulting in minimal operating and maintenance costs; saves on reagent expenses compared to chemical methods like flotation.
√ Lightweight and Quick to Install: The ABS material spiral chute makes the unit over 30% lighter than traditional fiberglass chutes; installation can be completed by two people, and the system can be put into production within half a day.
√ Environmental Advantages: The ABS plastic materials reduce operational vibration and noise. The process requires no electricity—relying entirely on gravity separation—and causes no chemical pollution, aligning with green mining standards.
√ High Recovery: Particularly effective at recovering ultra-fine minerals (such as 800-mesh/0.019mm tin tailings) that traditional equipment like shaking tables or standard chutes cannot process, significantly boosting comprehensive resource utilization.
Simple Structure: Vertical installation, small footprint, and easy operation.
√ Wide Range of Applications: The ABS lightweight spiral chute can be used for gravity separation of ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic minerals, from gold mines to quartz sand, from coastal sand mines to coal desulfurization, covering a very wide range of applications.
√ Modular Design: Diameter and pitch can be customized; available in single, double, triple, or quadruple-start configurations; multiple units can be connected in parallel for large-scale production, allowing for flexible scalability of processing capacity.
