250TPH Clay Placer Gold Washing Plant Flow
Located in Ghana, West Africa, this project involves processing an alluvial gold deposit characterized by sticky clay and large rocks. In response to the strong, viscous minerals, high clay volume, and wide particle-size range, JXSC has tailored this 250TPH clay placer gold washing and recycling plant to integrate feeding, drum washing, two-stage screening, and sluice gravity separation. This integrated system combines feeding, rotary scrubbing, two-stage screening, and gravity separation via sluice boxes, enabling the client to achieve efficient clay disintegration, precise sizing, and maximum gold recovery, thereby significantly enhancing overall economic returns.
1. Feeding and Impurity Removal:
Trucks dump run-of-mine ore into a hopper, and a vibrating feeder feeds it uniformly. A grizzly screen immediately separates waste rock larger than 50mm, which is conveyed to a waste dump, thereby reducing the load on downstream processing from the source.
2. Intensive Ore Washing and Mud Disaggregation:
Ore material sized 0–50mm is fed via a chute into a rotary scrubber. Through the combined action of the rotating drum and high-pressure water jets, sticky mud clumps are thoroughly broken down, fully liberating gold particles so they can flow with the water to the next stage.
3. Multi-stage Screening and Classification:
The washed material passes sequentially through two high-frequency vibrating screens: the first uses a 6mm aperture to separate coarse and fine particles, with the 0–6mm fines passing through to the recovery stage; the 6–50mm material is then further classified by the second screen using a 12mm aperture.
4. Gravity Recovery via Sluice Boxes:
The 0–6mm fines enter eight sets of gold sluice boxes for gravity separation, while the 6–12mm medium-sized particles are fed into one of the sluice sets for separate enrichment. Tailings from the individual sluices are combined and fed into the remaining sluices for a secondary scavenging pass to maximize gold recovery, after which the final tailings are discharged.
The project addresses the three major challenges of high-viscosity placer gold deposits: mud clumps, uneven particle size, and easy loss of gold grains, and has constructed a complete process flow of “first removing impurities, then dissolving mud, then classifying, and finally gravity separation“.
By utilizing a multi-stage sluice configuration and a tailings re-treatment design, gold recovery rates have been boosted to 95%. This 250 TPH clay-rich placer gold washing solution offers high efficiency, stability, and scalability, serving as a replicable model of success for handling high-clay-content alluvial gold deposits.

Highlight Of JXSC Design 250TPH Clay Placer Gold Washing Solution
√ Strong mud-removing ability: The drum washing scrubber powerfully scrubs and thoroughly breaks down sticky mud clumps, ensuring that the gold grains are fully exposed.
√ Precise classification: A two-stage high-frequency screening system enables fine separation at 6mm and 12mm, allowing each size fraction to be processed optimally.
√ Full recovery: 8-sets of sluice boxes are connected in series in layers, and tailings are recycled, resulting in a gold recovery rate that is significantly better than that of single-stage treatment.
√ Broad adaptability: Screen apertures can be flexibly adjusted to rapidly accommodate varying ore sources and particle size distributions.
√ Reliable operation: The entire line utilizes proven, standardized equipment that is stable, durable, and easy to maintain.
√ Good scalability: Selected equipment such as shaker tables can be added as needed to improve the backend gold extraction chain.
Ores vary in terms of clay content, viscosity, gold particle size, and associated minerals; maximizing profitability requires a “tailored-to-the-ore” approach based on the specific mineral characteristics. Whether it’s alluvial gold, rock gold, sulfide gold, or gold-bearing tailings projects, JXSC will provide you with a one-stop customized gold processing solution, from process design and equipment selection to complete line delivery, helping you achieve sustainable profitability with high capacity, high recovery, and low cost.
